GX108 Clear Violet is a clear violet shade of the Mr.Color GX range. It does not cover, because the surface underneath shows through the applied coat and what is colored is only the light reflected back from it. The GX range belongs to Mr.Color, so it is thinned with the thinner meant for that range, and the thinning ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Watch out for a pair of shades: the range holds Clear Violet and Clear Purple side by side, both of which would be called violet in Czech, so go by the manufacturer's part number.
Clear violet is most often used as a top coat over a silver or chrome base, where it creates a deep metallic candy effect. It earns its place on bodywork, motorcycle tanks, helmets and on parts where the gloss is meant to be saturated and translucent. It also serves well as a filter with which an already finished blue or red is shifted toward a cooler tone.
Spray in several really thin coats and let the surface dry between them. The saturation grows with every coat and cannot be taken back, so add it slowly. The surface underneath has to be smooth and glossy; a matte surface will cloud a clear coat. It is thinned with the thinner of the Mr.Color range. The thinner of this range is more aggressive than that of water-thinnable paints, so test the combination with a paint of another brand on an offcut of plastic first.
The package contains the bottle of paint alone. Thinner, brushes, airbrushes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
