Gunze H097 Fluorescent Yellow (Aqueous Hobby Color, 10 ml)

A water-thinnable acrylic paint from the Aqueous Hobby Color range of the Japanese maker Gunze (Mr.Hobby). It is a fluorescent yellow — the most brilliant and the most conspicuous of the fluorescent shades. Fluorescent pigment reflects more light than ordinary paint, so the surface literally glows in daylight as well as under UV light. A volume of 10 ml.

Use

• It is thinned with water or with acrylic Aqueous thinner — not with lacquer thinner. Before it dries, the tools can be washed with water.
• Brush: usually 1 to 2 thin coats without thinning; airbrush: 2 to 3 coats after thinning.
• The key piece of advice: fluorescent paints have weak covering power and are translucent. On a dark or colored base they lose their glow — spray them onto a white base, ideally a white surfacer, otherwise they will not glow fully.
• Fluorescent pigment fades in direct light over time — for protection we recommend a clear coat with UV protection.
• The warning surfaces of aircraft (nose tips, wing tips), garish racing cars, science fiction and anime (the energy features of Gundam).
