HDQ01 is a gloss blue from the themed Aqueous Hobby Color Dragon Quest range. It is a water-thinnable acrylic paint by Mr.Hobby with the same formula as the standard Aqueous range; the only difference is the shade, mixed to match the little monster from the Dragon Quest game series that the name gives as Slime. You get a ready-made tone that you would otherwise have to mix laboriously.
Gloss blue suits figures, toy-like vehicles and any accessories that are meant to look smooth and new. A gloss surface is at the same time the best base for decals, because no dulled edge forms around them. You can also use it as a striking detail color on an otherwise restrained model. If it comes out too raw for you, it can be toned down with a drop of white or gray from the same range.
Stir the paint thoroughly before use, the pigment settles to the bottom. Lay down two or three thin coats rather than one heavy one; a heavy coat floods the detail and dries unevenly. A light base helps the shade keep its saturation, over dark plastic the blue comes out darker. Wash and degrease the plastic before painting. It thins with water or with the thinner meant for the Aqueous range; with a brush you can work even with only slightly thinned paint. Wash the tools with water right after the work, later only thinner will do it.
The package holds a single bottle of paint. The thinner, the brushes, the airbrushes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
