HGQ03 is the yellow shade from the paint set prepared for the GQuuuuuuX series. On robot kits yellow tends to be the secondary color of warning areas, markings, chest panels and small parts, but that is exactly why it shows: a botched yellow area catches the eye on a model more than a perfectly done gray.
It is an acrylic paint thinnable with water from the Gunze range, and it dries to a semi-gloss sheen. Of all the shades in the set the yellow is the most demanding about what is underneath, because its pigment covers the worst of all and a dark background takes away its brightness.
Stir the paint thoroughly and lay it over a white or light gray base; straight onto dark plastic it would take many coats and the result would still stay muddy. Choose thin coats and let the paint dry between them. Repairs on a tacky yellow area turn out badly, so let any mistake dry and go over the whole area instead. Wash and degrease the parts beforehand, and for an airbrush thin the paint as the manufacturer directs and match the ratio to the pressure and the nozzle.
The paint is supplied on its own. The kit, the thinner, the primer, the clear coat and the tools are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
