A modeling paint from the Aqueous Hobby Color line of the Japanese company Gunze. It is a water-thinnable acrylic paint that can be applied with a brush as well as with an airbrush. The shade is set by the FS16440 standard, which several independent makers list under the name Light Gull Grey, that is the light gray of the US Navy; the upper surfaces of carrier aircraft were painted in this shade.
The Aqueous line is recognized by a code starting with the letter H. It is acrylic and for brushwork it usually does not need thinning; for spraying with an airbrush the manufacturer recommends thinning it with the line's own thinner. Do not confuse it with the Mr.Color line, which has a code starting with C, is of the lacquer type and needs its own lacquer thinner. The same shade with the same standard number from this maker exists in both lines, so the two paints have very similar names and have to be told apart by the code. The gloss can be knocked back by adding the same maker's flattening base.
For modelers who want a shade matching the standard and do not want to work with solvent-based paints. A water-thinnable paint is easier to clean up and smells less.
