HUG201 is a red paint from a range of shades mixed to match particular machines from the world of Gundam. Sword Impulse is the designation of one of them; its red areas make up a substantial part of the color scheme, so this is a shade a build gets through faster than on small details alone. Outside that model it serves anywhere you need a saturated red area without having to mix one.
It is a paint from the Gunze range; the thinner and the thinning ratio follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. It dries to a semi-gloss sheen, which on robot kits holds a good balance between a clean area and readable shapes. The final look can still be adjusted later with a clear coat, flat or gloss.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, the pigment settles at the bottom. Red covers decently, yet lay it down in two thin coats; a single heavy coat runs into the engraved recesses and floods the fine surface detail. Wash and degrease the parts beforehand. If you are going to put decals on the model, bear in mind that a semi-gloss surface is less grateful for them than a gloss one, and clear coat the spot under the decals.
The paint is supplied on its own. The kit, the thinner, the primer, the clear coat and the tools are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
