One shade from the IONIC DRYBRUSH range, that is from the paints intended for work with a dry brush. The designation Intense Pink names a strong pink. It is not a base covering finish but a paint with which light is added on the edges and raised places of a finished base.
A strong pink belongs mainly to gaming and fantasy modeling, where it serves on fabrics, wings, leathery crests, tentacles and organic shapes whose surface is to look alive. It also comes into its own on flowers and blossoming bushes in a diorama, where it is enough to pass lightly over the tops, and in places where a warm undertone is to show through the top color. Over a dark purple or red base it shows at its strongest.
The work is simple but does not take haste. Take just a pinch of paint on the brush and wipe most of it off on paper; the brush has to be almost dry. Run it briskly across the edges so that the paint clings only to the highest places. Build up gradually in two or three passes and look at the work against the light in between. Unthinned paint stays on the edges, thinned paint runs into the hollows and the effect disappears. Wash the brush immediately after work, as dried paint at the ferrule will spoil the hair.
