What the pearl shade looks like

Pearl paints carry tiny flakes in the binder that do not just reflect light back but also break it up. Seen head on, the surface therefore looks darker and deeper, while at a sharp angle a faint tint washes across it. The effect shows best on rounded shapes such as a car body, a helmet or a motorcycle tank; on flat surfaces it only comes out after a clear coat and polishing.

Application tips

Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use, otherwise the effect particles stay at the bottom. The base must be smooth, clean and degreased, because a gloss finish brings out every scratch and fingerprint. Apply the paint in thin coats with a pause for drying, and try the shade first on a scrap piece of plastic rather than straight on the model. Thinning, the recommended way of applying it and the cleaning of tools all follow the manufacturer's instructions.
