L-shaped ruler with an engraving guide from Titans Hobby: a square for restoring panel lines and for precise marking out.
Responsibility details are not available.
Restoring a panel line after sanding cannot be done freehand: the scriber wanders off and a scratch beside the line shows even under paint. That is why engraving is done along a firm edge. This ruler has the shape of the letter L, so it rests against the edge of a part and keeps a right angle by itself, and at the same time it carries a guide meant precisely for leading a scriber. The result is a straight line in the right place and with no slips.
Engrave with several light strokes instead of one heavy one: that way the scriber does not jump out and the edge of the line stays clean. Press the ruler down firmly, but never engrave toward your fingers. Level the burr on both sides of the line with a fine sanding sponge and then check the line by holding it up to the light. Before engraving, mark the route with a thin pencil or with masking tape, especially if you are continuing an existing line.
The tool is intended for modeling use. The edges can be sharp, so keep it out of the reach of children.
