A collection of period racing photographs of the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo is a picture publication, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A picture publication from a range built on period photographs taken directly at the races. It is not a kit and not building instructions. The publication is devoted to the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo in racing use.
A photograph of a car in a museum shows a machine polished and often rebuilt according to how it has survived. A period shot from a race, by contrast, catches the car as it really ran: with dirt on the fenders, with lettering taped over, with damage from contact and with fittings that changed during the weekend. For a modeler who wants to build a particular machine from a particular race, it is the only reliable source.
The Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo was the racing version of a production coupe built for a category in which the rules concentrated on the silhouette of the car, while underneath the body what could arise was practically a racing machine of its own. What came of it was a car with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine mounted amidships, wide fenders and extensive aerodynamics, which collected titles in endurance racing at the turn of the seventies and eighties.
