The Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo was the racing version of a production coupe built for a category in which the rules governed mainly the silhouette of the car. Underneath the body, therefore, what arose was practically a racing machine of its own, with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine amidships, wide fenders and extensive aerodynamics. At the turn of the seventies and eighties it was among the most successful cars in endurance racing in its class.
