Where the lighter tone of the same line serves to bring the skin unobtrusively to life, this one goes a step further. It suits the lips, a pronounced blush, the coloring of joints and fingertips, or places where the skin is to look flushed. On darker bases it holds its own even where a light pink would disappear. Anyone who paints figures regularly usually uses both shades side by side and blends the transition between them away.
With a saturated pink it holds doubly that it should be picked up carefully. The stick releases more powder than one expects, and the excess then spreads further than it was meant to. The proven method is to wipe the tip on a piece of paper first and to go over the figure only with what is left. The transitions are created with a circular motion of a dry brush, not with pressure.
The powder lies loose on the surface, so any wet process washes it off or floats it away at once. Washes, liquid paints and decals therefore belong on the model earlier. The powder comes last of all, after all the wet finishing.
Models that are only looked at in a display case can be left unfixed and the shade keeps its full depth. As soon as a figure is to be picked up, it is better to seal the surface, even at the cost of a slight loss of saturation. The fixing varnish is applied from a distance and in two passes, because one heavy spray knocks the powder into blotches before it has time to dry, and that cannot then be corrected.
