Vallejo Light Brown Mud — light mud for weathering models

Light Brown Mud is a weathering compound, not a paint. It serves to create dried light brown mud of the kind that stays on vehicles after driving along a dry field track, through dusty terrain or after puddles have dried out. The lighter tone is an advantage for modeling work: it stands out well against a dark chassis, it reads even on a small area and it is used as the top, youngest layer of the deposit, with which the gradual layering of mud from dark to light is closed off.

Use

• Stir the contents before application so that the filler is dispersed in the binder again.
• Apply it sparingly to vertical surfaces and more heavily to horizontal and lower areas — mud naturally holds where a wheel or a track threw it.
• You create splashes by flicking a wetted brush with stiff bristles above the model; cover the surroundings in advance, because the spatter is hard to control.
• Layer it with darker shades of mud and with pigments; several thin layers give a markedly better impression than one thick application.
• It is thinned with water, and the tools are cleaned the same way. Once dry, the compound will no longer dissolve in water.

Who it is for

For modelers of military vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery and for diorama builders who want a light mud tone ready without mixing their own. It also comes into its own on figures, on boots, shins and the lower edge of clothing, where only a minimal application is needed.

Close the container after use. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not inhale the dust when sanding dried layers, and ventilate.
