A light orange fluorescent shade from the Precision Fluor range by AK interactive. Most often it comes into play as an intermediate step: between the brightest yellow core and the cooler red edge of glowing hot metal, a flame or the exhaust of a nozzle. On its own it suits the warm lighting of windows in a diorama, sodium street lamps and softer versions of beacons and light panels.
A fluorescent pigment returns the light falling on it at a different wavelength, so even in daylight it looks brighter than an ordinary paint, and under an ultraviolet lamp it stands out most of all. Without light falling on it, it does not glow, so this is not a phosphorescent paint. The coverage is weaker than with ordinary paints, and on a dark base the shade goes dark and the brightness is lost.
Put a white base under the paint and apply two or three thin coats with a pause for drying. On glowing hot metal, work in bands from the center outwards and break up the boundary between the shades with a dry brush or a light overspray, because a sharp transition gives the painting away. On lit windows, apply the shade to the inner face of the clear part so that no brush marks are visible from outside. For thinning and for cleaning your tools, follow the maker's instructions.

It serves best as a pair with a brighter and a darker shade of the same range. It is sold separately; the model, thinner and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise.
