The blue shade LP-78 from the Tamiya LP line in a flat finish. A flat surface takes washes and pigments well and does not accentuate small unevenness.

This is a blue shade in a flat finish, carried under the designation LP-78 in the Tamiya LP line. Blue finds use on models over large areas and in detail alike: from the finishes of aircraft and vehicles through items of equipment to small things in an interior and on figures. A flat finish means that the dried coat does not reflect light, so it does not draw attention to itself and does not accentuate small unevenness in the surface.
A flat coat is the basis for further work on a model. A wash and drybrushing take on it evenly and pigments hold on it, whereas on a gloss surface they would run and form stains. If you are going to apply decals to the area later, go over the spot under them with a gloss clear coat, otherwise a white haze will appear under the decal, and restore the flat look at the end with a flat clear coat.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the flatting agent settles at the bottom and the paint would otherwise dry unevenly. Apply it in several thin coats and let them flash off between each other, as a heavy application floods fine surface detail. The thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, and tools are cleaned with the same thinner. Do not mix paints from different lines with one another, as they may curdle.
The package holds the paint. The thinner, clear coat, brushes and airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise.
