A satin varnish from the Mecha line by Vallejo in a 200 ml container. It evens out the gloss of a surface, protects the paint and also serves as an intermediate coat between individual steps.

Mecha Satin Varnish is a varnish with a satin degree of gloss from the Mecha line by Vallejo. A satin surface lies between matte and gloss: it shines slightly, but it does not reflect sharply the way a gloss varnish does and it does not look dusty the way a matte one does. It therefore suits anywhere a model is meant to look used and yet maintained, that is on machines and robots, on vehicles and on figures. The 200 ml volume is meant for spraying larger areas and for long-term work.
Above all it protects a painted surface against rubbing from hands and against damage during further work. Its second task is optical: it evens out the gloss of an area on which shades with different surfaces have come together, so the model stops looking blotchy. The third use is as an intermediate coat. Seal the finished paint with it before washes and the further steps go onto the model, and the shade underneath stays protected.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. The paint under the varnish must be perfectly dry, or the surface will skin over and take a long time to cure. Apply several thin coats instead of one heavy one, as a heavy coat runs into the relief and leaves puddles in the hollows. Work at room temperature and preferably away from damp weather. Check the thinning for spraying in the manufacturer's instructions, and rinse your tools and the airbrush out straight after work, while the varnish has not yet dried. Try the procedure out on a test piece.
For modelers who finish models in larger numbers and want a surface without sharp reflections. Paints, the model and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
