MERDC Camo Colors from Vallejo is an eight-piece set of Model Air range paints for American vehicles in MERDC camouflage patterns.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of eight acrylic paints in 17 ml dropper bottles, seven of them opaque shades and one a satin clear coat. According to the manufacturer's designation the set belongs to the Model Air range, which is thinner and sprays with no further thinning. The palette is put together for the American MERDC camouflage patterns and contains a black, two greens, a light green, a sand, a field brown and an additional brown.
The MERDC pattern has hard edges between the fields, so it is often masked. Paint from this range dries quickly and keeps a thin coat, which makes masking easier.
In the 1970s the American command for research and development of engineer equipment worked out a system of camouflage patterns for US Army vehicles. Each pattern is built on four colors, two main ones and two secondary ones, and the choice of a particular combination was governed by the terrain and the season at the place of deployment.
For modelers of modern American vehicles who want the whole palette of the pattern together instead of assembling it from individual bottles. With seven shades several different variants of the pattern can be covered.
Shake the bottle before use. Work in a ventilated area and keep the paints out of the reach of children.
