A set of eight metallic acrylic paints of the Model Color range in dropper bottles, intended for the brush as well as for the airbrush once thinned.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings together the metallic shades of the Model Color range that a modeler would otherwise have to put together one bottle at a time. It contains a bluish and a gray variant of the color for gun barrels and armor, plus brass, old gold, gold, silver, bronze and copper. These eight cover the vast majority of metal surfaces on a model, from cartridge cases through iron-shod wheels to railings and the fittings of crates.
The metallic look does not come from a pigment but from fine flakes of metal dispersed in the binder. That is why the bottle has to be shaken thoroughly before every use, otherwise the effect stays at the bottom. For the same reason a metallic paint is applied only onto a smooth and preferably glossy surface. On a matte coat the flakes do not settle flat and the paint looks dusty rather than metallic.
The best result comes from a thin coat and patience. Two light coats cover better than one heavy one and do not clog the detail. Once dry, it is a good idea to protect the surface with a varnish, because metal flakes on the surface are easily damaged by rubbing. For the airbrush it is enough to thin the paint with water or with a thinner for acrylics, and the dropper in the neck makes it easier to dose drop by drop and to mix your own shades.
