Sixteen Model Color shades for German vehicles and uniforms of the Second World War, from field gray to the late three-color camouflage.
Responsibility details are not available.
Over six years the Wehrmacht went through several color systems. The early gray was replaced in 1943 by a dark yellow base, onto which crews applied olive and red-brown. This set contains all the layers of that development at once, so with it you can cover machines from Poland as well as from the Ardennes.
Model Color is a water-based acrylic in a bottle with a dropper that doses one drop at a time. That has a practical consequence: mixing shades by ratio is simple with it and easy to repeat, so if a color runs out in the middle of a build you can mix exactly the same one again.
The paints are matte and have a consistency suited to a brush. For an airbrush it is enough to thin them with water or with the thinner of the same brand. On the large surfaces of vehicles it is best to apply two thin coats, as one heavy coat would blur the shape of the molded detail.
Anyone building late-period vehicles will appreciate that the palette does not lack the dark green used on Waffen-SS vehicles. With it you can also cover cases where a factory finish met a field overspray applied in the unit itself.
