After the war, neutral Sweden built up a school of aircraft colors of its own that resembled nothing to the east or to the west. The Saab 29 Tunnan flew at first in bare metal, the Saab 32 Lansen and the Saab 35 Draken were given a two-color scheme with a dark upper surface and a light blue underside, and the Saab 37 Viggen made famous the four-color angular pattern known as the splinter scheme. The eight shades in this set together cover all three stages.
The pair Swedish Dk Green and Swedish Lt Green, together with the shade Pale Brown and black, forms the basis of the four-color pattern on the Viggens, the Sk 61 trainers and helicopters. Light Blue belongs to the undersides of all the machines mentioned. Olive Drab, Blue Grey and Green Drab cover the variants of the upper surfaces on the Lansen, the Draken and the Sk 60 and Sk 61 trainers, while Green Drab also appeared on early Tunnans of the F3 wing, where it was combined with black.
Blue Line is a water-thinnable acrylic in bottles of 10 ml, that is the variant meant above all for the brush and for fine work. The smaller volume comes in useful if you need only part of the palette and do not want to pay for a large container that dries out before you use it up.
Swedish shade codes such as 326M or 322M appear directly in the names of the colors, so it is possible to trace which tone belongs on which surface according to period regulations.
