Modular Acrylic Paint Rack/Base Set

Modular paint rack - base set (Meng)

An organizer for a modeling bench. The word acrylic in the original name refers to the material of the rack, that is a clear plastic similar to acrylic sheet, not to the type of paint - the rack will serve bottles regardless of whether they hold acrylic, enamel or lacquer. The base set forms the starting piece of an assembly that can be extended further with add-on modules.

Use

• Arranging paint bottles so that the labels are visible and a shade is found by eye, not by hand
• Extending the assembly step by step as a paint collection grows
• Freeing up the working surface of a bench, where bottles tend to stand about loose
• Storage on a shelf or within reach right by the airbrush

What to think about before buying

Check the diameter and height of your own bottles - modeling paints are sold in several different formats and not every rack will take them all. The clear acrylic material is strong but more sensitive to organic solvents than ordinary plastics: wipe spilled thinner or airbrush cleaner off straight away, so that the surface does not go dull. For cleaning use a damp cloth rather than denatured alcohol or aggressive cleaners. If you plan to extend your collection, count from the start on adding another module to the base set.

Who it is for

For modelers whose paints pile up on the bench and for whom finding a particular shade takes more time than the painting itself. It will also be appreciated by those whose bench is shared with another activity and who need to put the paints away and bring them back quickly.

This is not a paint and not a kit. Paint bottles are not included in the package.
