NGA-07 Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color (Base Color) - Char's Red Matt

The color

A saturated red in a flat finish, listed in the Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color range as a base shade. The name refers to Char, a character from Gundam whose machines are recognized throughout the series by their red finish. On the large areas of a fuselage and of shields a flat surface looks calmer than gloss and holds subsequent shading, edge highlighting and drybrushing better.

Where it is useful

Above all on robot models, where red appears on large panels, on chest parts and on shields. The shade is not tied to them in any way, though: it serves just as well on the red elements of vehicles, on warning areas, on parts for figures and anywhere a clean red without an orange cast is needed.

Application tips

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use, the pigment settles at the bottom when left alone.
• Use the thinner the manufacturer supplies for the Acrysion range; with thinners of other systems the paint curdles.
• A saturated red covers more slowly than dark shades, over a light base it comes out cleanest.
• Spray in thin coats and let them become tacky, as a single heavy coat floods the fine relief of the parts.
• A flat surface is more prone to fingerprints, so take the finished parts by the areas that are not seen.
