NGA-13 Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color (Base Color) - Gold Metallic

The color

Gold Metallic is a metallic gold from the group of base shades of the Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color range. On a model it does not make an area but a detail: gold over a large surface quickly cheapens the whole impression, whereas on small parts, rims and edges it holds the eye exactly where it should. The tone is warm and changes with the angle of view according to how the light bounces off the metal particles in the paint.

Where it is useful

On the decorative elements of robot kits, on joint and mechanical parts, on instrument rims, visors and the insides of nozzles. Outside that field it will serve anywhere brass or gilded metal is meant to be recognized, that is, on accessories for figures, on fittings and on the small components of historical vehicles.

Application tips

• Metal pigment settles at the bottom, so stir the paint properly before every use.
• It is thinned with the thinner meant for the Acrysion range; residues that have not dried can be washed off the tools with water.
• A more saturated metal comes out over a smooth dark surface, over a light and flat base it looks pale.
• Lay it down in thin coats; in a heavy coat the metal particles clump together and the surface goes grainy.
• A matte varnish suppresses the metal sheen, so try the clear coat on a piece of leftover plastic first.

For modelers who build robot kits and want to bring the decorative and mechanical elements out with a ready-made metal tone. The thinner, the primer and the clear coat are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
