Premium RC Fluo Colors Set brings together the glowing tones that are otherwise bought a bottle at a time. What such a package gives you is more than having them to hand: glowing shades differ from one another in the strength of the impression far more than opaque ones do, and only when you have them side by side do you find out which of them really works in a given light.
The typical use is on racing machines, on fantastic constructions, on gaming bases and on everything that is meant to be visible from the other end of the hall on a display table. Under an ultraviolet lamp the whole group then comes forward at once and creates an effect that is hard to imitate any other way.
Glowing tones have a thinner paint film and poorer covering power, so they need a light ground; over a dark area they turn into an ordinary pastel color. The coats are built up gradually and it is good to let the surface flash off between them. The difference between the second and the third coat tends to be surprisingly large, so make your test on an offcut.
Do not mix them needlessly with opaque shades. Every admixture of opaque pigment dampens the glow and the result then looks merely stronger rather than glowing. If you want a transition, lay two glowing tones side by side and cover the boundary with a thin pass of the lighter of them.
The set belongs among the supplementary equipment rather than among the foundations of a workshop. Anyone who builds only historical subjects will not use it, whereas with modern racing finishes, science-fiction themes and fantasy bases it becomes the most used box on the table.
