The Skoda 120 L belonged to the 105 and 120 family, which was built in Mlada Boleslav from the middle of the nineteen seventies and for many years became the most common car on Czechoslovak roads. It had its engine at the rear, drove the rear wheels, and under the rear lid a four-cylinder of not quite 1.2 liters worked away. The letter L in the designation referred to the level of equipment. For a great many families it was their first car, so today it is a model people have a personal bond with.

The 1:43 scale is the most widespread among collector car models: a car roughly 4.2 meters long measures not quite ten centimeters in it, so a whole collection fits into an ordinary display case.
Stand the model in a closed display case out of direct sunlight. Sunlight shifts the shade of the finish in time and makes plastic parts brittle, and on blue cars it shows first on the roof. Wipe the dust off with a soft brush rather than a dry cloth, which scratches the surface needlessly. Pick the model up by the body, never by the mirrors, the wipers and the other small parts, which break off easily. Keep the original box, because with collector models it is part of the value of the whole.
For collectors of Czechoslovak cars and for anyone who remembers the 120 from childhood. The model is supplied finished and painted, unless stated otherwise, and it is not a toy for small children.
