FineMolds 1:48 IJN MXY-7 Ohka – unpowered trainer glider K1 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese training glider in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds in 1:48 scale captures the unpowered K1 training version of the Japanese MXY-7 Ohka. The package holds the parts of the airframe and a transport trolley for ground handling; decals for several marking options are enclosed. The model has finely engraved surface detail and suits less experienced modelers as well.
The MXY-7 Ohka was a Japanese special-attack aircraft of the end of the Second World War. The K1 version served purely to train pilots: it had no warhead and no rocket power, carrying water ballast instead, and it was fitted with a landing skid and flaps so that it could be used again and again for practicing the approach and the landing. The striking orange finish of the training machines was characteristic.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush works well for even coverage of the large orange area. The transport trolley can be treated as a small diorama. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
