A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the German battleship Tirpitz in her 1942 form, in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Flyhawk. The model is worked out with regard to the period appearance of the ship and offers a faithfully rendered hull, superstructures, main and secondary artillery and deck equipment. A photo-etched (brass) fret with fine details, decals and instructions are included in the package; the first release additionally contains a part made by 3D printing technology. It is a higher-class kit for modelers who want to capture the characteristic features of German battleships of that time.
The Tirpitz was the sister ship of the famous Bismarck and was among the largest and most powerful battleships of the Second World War. She spent most of her service in the Norwegian fjords, from where she was a standing threat to the Allied Arctic convoys and tied down considerable forces of the Royal Navy. Although she practically never took part in a major naval battle, her mere presence influenced the planning of Allied operations. The Allies attacked her repeatedly from the sea and from the air before she was finally sunk by an air attack.
In 1:700 scale work carefully with the fine parts and bond the photo-etch with super glue. The hull can be finished as a full hull on a stand or to the waterline for a sea diorama. Lay the gray camouflage shades down with an airbrush and bring the panel and deck details out with a discreet wash and a dry brush. Railings and fine photo-etch raise the realistic impression of the ship markedly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
