Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German warship Admiral Scheer in 1:700 scale from Flyhawk, a manufacturer known for fine, detailed tooling in the small ship scales. The model captures the ship as she looked at the beginning of the Second World War. The exact contents of the package, any photo-etch, a wooden deck or masks differ from edition to edition, so check them against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Admiral Scheer belonged to the Deutschland class, to the so-called armored ships (Panzerschiff), which are also known as pocket battleships. In 1940 the ship was reclassified as a heavy cruiser. She carried a main armament of 28 cm guns in two triple turrets and, thanks to her economical diesel propulsion, she had a long range. She became known above all as a commerce raider against Allied convoys in the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean.
Decide in advance whether you will build the ship as a full hull on a stand or in the waterline version. Cut the small parts of the yards, the turrets and the superstructures off carefully and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Paint the deck and the hull with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines and the detail with a wash. Glue any photo-etched railings and ladders with cyanoacrylate glue at the very end. Consider using a stand for displaying the finished model safely.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
