An injection-molded plastic kit of the Fairchild Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft in 1:72 scale from Great Wall Hobby. This edition brings the striking special finish of an Idaho Air National Guard machine for the unit's 75th anniversary in 2021. The modern tooling is marked out by a fine surface rendering with both raised and recessed rivets and by a generous package that includes a small photo-etched fret and nose weight.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the Warthog, is an American single-seat ground-attack aircraft for the close support of ground forces, built around the seven-barrel GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon. The A-10C version is the modernized standard, with new avionics and the ability to carry precision-guided munitions. For the 75th anniversary the Idaho ANG machine carried a bold finish with an olive green upper surface, a light underside and historic invasion stripes.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and sand the joints back. Lay down a primer before painting, spray with an airbrush, and use gloss clear coat before the decals and matte after them. Do not forget the recommended nose weight, so that the model sits on its nose wheel.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
