Hataka modeling paint from the Blue Line range in a 10 ml bottle, shade Light Mediterranean Blue. The lighter of a pair of blue tones named after the Mediterranean.
Responsibility details are not available.
A shade carrying the name Light Mediterranean Blue, that is a light Mediterranean blue. Over the Mediterranean the sky is brighter and without the haze that northern theaters are used to, and aircraft deployed in this region therefore received blue finishes on their undersides instead of gray. A blue underside hides an aircraft against such a sky considerably better than gray. This shade is the lighter of a pair: the same manufacturer lists the darker counterpart under the name Dark Mediterranean Blue, so the two can be used side by side, or used to tell apart machines from different periods and different degrees of fading.
The bottle holds ten milliliters. The shade belongs to the Blue Line range, one of the lines this manufacturer runs alongside each other. The lines differ in composition, so follow the data given by the manufacturer for this range when thinning and cleaning the tools, not a habit from another one.
Stir the bottle smooth before work, the pigment settles at the bottom. Light blue tones cover worse than dark ones, so lay on several thin coats over a unified base rather than one heavy one. A light color also takes on the tone of what is underneath, so try the result on a piece of scrap plastic painted the same way as the model.
For modelers building aircraft deployed in the Mediterranean who want the undersides solved with a ready-made shade. What is supplied is the paint. The model, thinner, varnish and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
