A liquid pigment wash from the Liquid Pigments line in a shade that joins earthy gray with green. A wash is a thin paint with fine pigment: it runs into the texture of a surface and into the panel lines and, once dry, tints them without covering the paintwork. This tone is close to the color of damp soil on which growth is starting, that is to the ground in a forest, by water and in places the sun does not reach. The product is thinned with water.
On the lower parts of vehicles that have driven through wet terrain, on wheel wells, fenders and the running gear. On the bases of figures and on the terrain of a diorama, where damp soil needs to be told from dry dust. On stone and concrete near the ground, where dirt with a green cast gathers, and on wooden structures sunk into the terrain. It also serves well as a transition tone between brown soil and green growth, so that the two areas follow on from each other.
Shake the bottle, as the pigment settles. Spread the wash with a soft brush in thin layers and let the surface dry between them. Keep the dirt low down and blend it upward with a damp brush until it fades out; a sharp edge to the deposit gives away that it is paint. While the deposit is still wet it can be taken off with a cloth. A dusty and muddy surface suits a matte varnish at the end.
For modelers of ground vehicles, builders of dioramas and painters of figures who are missing a tone between soil and greenery. The model, brushes, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
