A set of liquid pigment glazes from the Liquid Pigments range, put together from cold shades and grays. A glaze is a thin paint with fine pigment: it is applied over a finished coat, runs into texture and joints and tints the surface once dry without hiding it. A cold tone plays a different part on a model from brown dirt, cooling the color down and taking its saturation away, so that the model stops looking freshly painted.
On the gray finishes of ships and aircraft, where it helps to deepen joints and break up large surfaces. On concrete, asphalt, stone and metal structures on a diorama. On a winter scene, to which a cold cast gives chill. On soot and exhaust residue around exhausts and gun barrels, where the dirt tends to be gray rather than brown. A gray glaze also calms a color that is too loud without overpowering it.
Shake the container before use, the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply with a soft brush in thin coats and let them dry. On a smooth gloss surface the glaze runs into the grooves and the excess can be lifted; on a matte surface it clings over the whole area and suits cooling the shade overall. While the coat is wet, you can adjust it with a damp brush or a cloth. Seal the finished model with a varnish to the sheen you want.
For modelers of ships, aircraft and scenes with concrete and metal, and for anyone looking for soiling other than brown. The set keeps the cold shades together, so they do not have to be put together from individual containers. The model, brushes, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
