A set of liquid pigment glazes from the Liquid Pigments range, put together around dark shades. A glaze is a thin paint with fine pigment: applied to a model it runs down into hollows, around rivets and into joints, where it stays once dry and draws a shadow. The product is water-thinnable, so it is cleaned and adjusted with water and needs no thinner with a smell.
A dark glaze is the quickest way to stop seeing a model as a uniform lump of color. It deepens the grooves on the tracks and in the running gear, separates armor plates from each other, picks out the folds on a figure's uniform, darkens the area around the exhaust and the recessed places in the landing gear bays. On a scene it serves equally well to suggest a damp corner, a shadow under an edge or dirt gathered where the rain does not reach.
Shake the container before use, the pigment settles. On a smooth gloss surface the glaze runs into the grooves by itself and the excess can be lifted; on a matte surface it clings more and suits soiling over a whole area. Apply in thin coats and let each one dry; a dark tone can be added, while taking it away is harder. While the coat is wet, you can adjust it with a damp brush or a cloth. Fix the finished work with a varnish.
