Dassault Mirage G8-02 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Modelsvit - an injection-molded plastic kit of the French experimental aircraft with a variable-geometry wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French experimental machine Dassault Mirage G8-02 in 1:72 scale from the production of the manufacturer Modelsvit. It is a modern mold thanks to which this rare aircraft is finally available as a classic plastic model - previously it was available rather in resin from other brands. The kit captures the second prototype (No. 02) of the Mirage G8 series, that is, the single-seat variant.
The Mirage G8 was an experimental combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing (variable sweep) which Dassault developed at the beginning of the 1970s as the follow-on stage of the Mirage G program. The G8-02 prototype was single-seat and became famous for reaching a European speed record in the region of Mach 2.34. The series never reached production and remained at the level of experiment and technology proving, yet it is among the interesting dead ends of French aviation.
A thin cement for plastic applied by capillary action into the seams is advisable, together with careful cleaning up of the parting lines, especially on the movable wing mechanism. Before varnishing use a primer, which unifies the surface and reveals any scratches. Apply the final shades with an airbrush in thin layers; the metal areas will benefit from metalizer-type shades. Settle the decals onto a gloss coat and fix them with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
