Masking set 1:72 MiG-21R in the EXPERT grade is an accessory to the kit of the reconnaissance version of the MiG-21, not an airplane model. Intended for the Eduard 70147 kit.

The set contains pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the reconnaissance MiG-21R version in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. The masks are cut for the Eduard 70147 kit. It is not a kit: the masks are stuck onto the assembled model before it is sprayed. The EXPERT grade is the broadest variant the manufacturer offers for the type in question.
The MiG-21R is the reconnaissance version of the widespread Soviet supersonic fighter. It differs from the combat versions above all in the ventral pod with reconnaissance equipment and in changes to the fuel system. With its delta wing and its nose air intake with a movable shock cone, the aircraft is among the most frequently built types of the Cold War, and modeling practice calls for it in a larger number of variants. The cockpit with its two glazing parts and its strongly shaped canopy is one of the places where careful masking clearly shows.
Leave the glazing unglued for as long as possible so that it is comfortable to work with, and mask it separately, away from the model. Lay the masks on from above and let the last millimeters settle by themselves, so that the material is not stretched. On larger models the inside of the canopy is masked as well; in 1:72 scale the outside is usually enough, together with spraying the frames in the interior shade. Spray the camouflage at a lower pressure and preferably in two passes; run every color transition so that the spray does not aim from under the edge of a mask. If the model gets a gloss clear coat under the decals, take the masks off before it, because the edges come away less easily under varnish.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
