1:48 MIG-17 F - BASIC Kabuki Masks is a basic set of painting masks for a model of the Soviet MiG-17F fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the Soviet MiG-17F fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki masking tape, that is, from a thin Japanese paper with a low-tack adhesive. The basic version covers the cockpit glazing, the other clear parts and the wheels. More detailed versions from the same maker add the beading of the frames and masks for the inside of the glazing, so you can choose according to how far you want to go.
The MiG-17 came about by reworking the earlier MiG-15 type, from which it differs above all in a new wing with a greater sweep angle and a longer fuselage. The F version was given an afterburning engine, thanks to which the aircraft reached just below the speed of sound in level flight. The machine was built in enormous numbers and under license outside the Soviet Union as well, so it served dozens of countries and made its name above all in Vietnam.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the sharp point of a scalpel or with tweezers, not with your fingers. Degrease the glazing before applying them, or the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch, not after days of hardening.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
