Omask 1:48 Hawker Typhoon — masking plugs for the wheel bays are shaped plugs of foam (EVA) that protect the wheel bays of a model while spraying. It is neither a model nor a set of masking stencils — these are the plugs alone, for the 1:48 Typhoon kits from Hasegawa and Hobby 2000.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from the Czech manufacturer Omask solves one of the most tiresome parts of painting an aircraft model: masking the wheel bays. Instead of laboriously filling them with tape, cotton wool or masking putty you simply press a shaped plug of flexible foam (EVA) into the bay, where it fits the opening exactly and reliably keeps paint and overspray out. The plugs are cut for the Hawker Typhoon kits in 1:48 scale from Hasegawa and Hobby 2000 (Hobby 2000 builds on the same mold). The package holds the plugs only — masking stencils for the glazing are not part of it; those are available in the more comprehensive O-max set.
For anyone building the Typhoon in 1:48 who wants clean wheel bays without lengthy masking. Suitable for beginners and experienced modelers alike who paint with an airbrush and want to shorten the preparation before spraying.
This is an accessory for painting, not a model. The kit, paints, masks for the glazing and glue are not included in the package.
