Omask 1:48 T-6G Texan / Harvard — wheel bay plugs of flexible foam, shaped for the Italeri kit. It is not a kit — it is a masking accessory, and you have to have the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of shaped plugs of flexible foam for the wheel bays of a T-6G model in 1:48 scale. It is NOT a kit or an aircraft model — it is a masking accessory intended for the kit from Italeri, which you have to have.
A painted wheel bay has to be masked while the model is sprayed from the outside, or you will ruin the finished interior with overspray. Masking a deep, irregular cavity with tape and cotton wool is slow and it does not seal properly anyway. A foam plug goes into the bay, compresses and seals it by itself — it holds without glue and does not have to line up to hundredths of a millimeter like a hard 3D print. Once the paint is dry it comes out. At the same time it protects the bay from dust and sanding slurry and it can be used again.
The North American T-6 is an American advanced trainer and one of the most widespread training machines in the history of aviation — the overwhelming majority of Allied pilots passed through it. In American service it was called the Texan, while the air forces of the British Commonwealth (the RAF, the RCAF and others) used the name Harvard for the same aircraft — hence both names in the title; these are not two different machines. The T-6G is the postwar modernized version, rebuilt from older machines; it flew for a long time after the war and in a number of countries it also served as a light combat aircraft.
A modeling accessory. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
