A masking set for the model of the Fw 190 D-11 in 1:48 scale, shaped for the kit from Miniart.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking is the part of building an aircraft model where the result shows: it is enough for an edge to blur and the whole finish looks careless. Pre-shaped masks cut this part down to minutes and hold the shape of the parts of one particular kit. This set is tied to the model of the Fw 190 D-11 in 1:48 scale from Miniart. Which areas the masks cover and how many of them are in the set should be checked against the manufacturer's information.
The Fw 190 D-11 belongs to the late machines of the so-called Dora series, the Fw 190 versions with a lengthened nose and the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Jumo 213. Compared with the most widespread D-9 version it is a later form of the same series, so a model of this type is less often seen among built Doras. The recognition mark of the series is the annular radiator right behind the propeller, which makes the nose look as if it held a radial engine although the engine is liquid-cooled.
Stick the masks onto the assembled, washed and degreased surface before spraying. Press the edges down carefully and lay the paint on in thin coats, otherwise a noticeable step will appear at the edge of the mask. Once dry, lift the masks off carefully, best straight away while the finish still releases well. Leave the glazing masked until the model is completely painted and clear-coated. That will save you repairs to the frames and fingerprints on the clear parts.
A masking set is supplied. The kit, paints, glue and decals do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
