A plastic ship kit in 1:350 scale from Very Fire. It is a detailed model of the Japanese heavy cruiser Atago, supplied as an unglued and unpainted kit; some editions come with photo-etched parts and other detailing components. The model can be built as a full hull or in a waterline version.
The Atago was a Takao-class heavy cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy. These ships were among the most heavily armed heavy cruisers of their time, marked by a massive bridge superstructure and a strong gun and torpedo armament. The Atago served in a number of operations in the Pacific during the Second World War.
Glue the hull and the decks with plastic cement, and the fine parts and any photo-etched additions (railings, radars) with cyanoacrylate glue. Use a primer before painting, apply the paints with an airbrush and bring out the decks and the superstructures with washes and drybrushing. A model stand suits it for display.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
