A model of the Soviet 76 mm regimental gun Model 1943, known under the designation OB-25, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Soviet 76 mm regimental gun Model 1943 came about during the war as a quick and cheap way to get light artillery support to the infantry. The designers set the barrel of the older Model 1927 regimental gun on a light split-trail carriage derived from the 45 mm antitank gun, which produced a weapon the crew could move under its own effort. It was used for direct fire against machine-gun nests and strongpoints, and against armored vehicles it could reach for HEAT ammunition. The weapon accompanied the Soviet infantry right to the end of the war.
The set brings this gun in 1:35 scale, that is, in the most widespread scale for ground equipment, where it combines easily with figures and with vehicles for a diorama. The scope of the package, the number of parts and the recommended build sequence are described in the enclosed instructions from the manufacturer.
Artillery models stand or fall by the carriage. Assemble it on a flat surface so that the model ends up standing on all its bearing points and the barrel points straight. Match the choice of glue to the material of the parts according to the instructions. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry. The gun looks best with a fine highlighting of the edges and with dust in the lower parts of the carriage.
The model will please collectors of artillery as well as diorama builders whose vehicles lack an accompanying infantry weapon. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
