The flagship airbrush of the premium Mr. Procon Boy range from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze (Mr.Hobby). It is a double-action gun with a gravity cup on top and a 0.3 mm nozzle. The Platinum name belongs to the highest, premium-finished version of the range and ver.2 is the newer, improved form. The gun has a built-in valve for fine-tuning the air pressure directly on the body and a multi-part head for a steady spray pattern and easy cleaning.

The 0.3 mm nozzle and the controls

A nozzle diameter of 0.3 mm is the all-round compromise: it handles fine detail as well as even coverage of small and medium areas. Double action means that the trigger regulates the amount of air and the amount of paint separately, so you have full control over the width and the density of the spray. A needle stop lets you set a repeatable limit on the paint flow.

The gun requires a source of compressed air (a compressor) and suitably thinned paint. Clean it thoroughly after every session so that paint does not dry in the nozzle. The compressor, paints, thinner and cleaner are not included in the package.
