The Titans Hobby riveting tool, set number 4, with a spacing prepared for the 1:48, 1:35 and 1:32 scales. It serves to create regular rows of rivets on the surface of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Riveting gives a smooth model surface its sense of scale and depth. The hardest part of it is not the impression itself but keeping a constant spacing and a straight line across a whole part. That is a job for a riveting tool: the gap between the individual impressions is held by the tool itself, and the modeler deals only with guidance and pressure.
Set number 4 has a spacing that matches the 1:48, 1:35 and 1:32 scales. It therefore suits aircraft models in medium and larger scales as well as military vehicles, where the individual rivets are clearly visible on the finished model and irregularity would stand out. Choosing the set according to the scale matters: a spacing that looks natural on a large model is too coarse on a small part.
On flat areas guide the tool along a metal ruler; on rounded ones use a strip of masking tape that follows the shape of the part. Press gently and evenly, as a deeper impression comes from repeated light passes rather than from force. Do the riveting only after filling and sanding, otherwise you will lose the row during the work on the surface. Before you start on a part, check the trace on a piece of sprue. Go over the finished area with fine abrasive and remove the plastic debris, so that paint does not settle in the pits in lumps.
For the modeler who builds in larger scales and wants a unified surface, including the places that have been repaired and filled. The package contains the tool; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
