RUBY RED

Ruby Red, a Gunze crystal pearl paint, 18 ml

A pearl paint from the crystal range of the Japanese manufacturer Gunze in a red, ruby tuning. It is not an opaque paint. The pigment is clear and the shade only shows in full over a suitable base, usually over a black, a silver or a white one. It is precisely by the choice of base that you govern whether the result will be darkly deep or light and brilliant. The volume of the bottle is 18 ml. Chemically it is a paint of the lacquer type on a solvent base, which is thinned exclusively with thinners of the Mr.Color range, that is the standard, the leveling or the rapid one. Neither water nor thinners for water-thinnable acrylics can be used for this paint.

Use

• it is applied as a top layer over a prepared, smoothly sanded base
• by brush usually one to two layers, by airbrush two to three
• let it dry for several hours between layers, otherwise the surface whitens or clouds
• you govern the depth of the shade by the color of the base under the pearl
• a clear coat over the top gives the surface a metallic, automotive look
• it is thinned only with thinners of the Mr.Color range

Who the paint is for

For builders of automobile and motorcycle models, robot kits and everywhere the aim is an eye-catching automotive surface with depth. It also suits small accents and accessories. Because the paint is translucent, it will not forgive an imperfect base; every scratch or unevenness will be more visible once it is applied. It is therefore worth spending the time on sanding and polishing the base.

The paint contains organic solvents and is flammable and irritant. Work in a well ventilated space away from an open flame, use respiratory protection when spraying and keep out of the reach of children.
