A paint from the CL range in the Mr.Color line. Scarlet is a saturated red with a shift toward orange, that is the tone carried by racing machines, warning areas and markings. Against darker reds it looks livelier and on a model it keeps its brightness even under a layer of final varnish. The name lists it as a base color in a gloss form: once dry the area will stay glossy, and you can tune a flatter look with a final varnish according to how the model is meant to look.
Mix the bottle well before use. Red shades are among those that cover less well, so lay them on in thin coats and let each one dry; over a dark base the tone will go gray, while over a light one it will come out bright. Wash and degrease the base so that the paint holds on smooth areas too. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging and use the thinner intended for this range. Let the paint cure thoroughly before you mask the area.
It suits models with a prominent red area and also small markings and warning items, where the color is meant to stay clean and not go gray. Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
