Modeling nippers from Tamiya intended for separating plastic parts and cutting soft metals. Jaws of quality tool steel give a clean cut right at the part. The tool suits not only plastic but also the softer metal wires used in building and superdetailing, for instance aluminum and brass wire for hydraulic lines, antennas or pins. Compared with ordinary pliers, these nippers have thin, accurate jaws that reach into confined places.

Use

• separating plastic parts from the sprue
• cutting soft metal wires - aluminum, copper, brass and nickel silver
• not intended for hard metals, steel strings, carbon fiber or laminates
• make the cut with the flat side toward the part; level the remaining gate with a knife or a file
• keep the jaws clean and dry

Good to know

Accurate jaws are at the same time delicate - do not overload them with hard materials or heavy leverage, so as not to chip the edge. On thicker gates, cut in two passes rather than in one forced squeeze. Handled properly, the tool stays sharp for a long time.
