A gray-sand base coat of the Israeli army, the period 1961 to 1973, with a reference to the FS 30372 standard in the name itself. A volume of 200 ml.
Responsibility details are not available.
The span of the years 1961 and 1973 marks out one of the most striking periods of the Israeli armored force. Those twelve years take in the Six-Day War and the October fighting in Sinai and on the Golan, and the vehicles that drove through them wore a uniform gray-sand coat. It was carried by rebuilt Shermans with long guns, by British Centurions in Israeli modification, by American medium tanks taken over and adapted to the local standard, by half-track carriers and by light reconnaissance machines.
The shade is cooler than one would expect of a desert color. It has a marked gray component, which bleaches out in harsh sun and darkens in shadow, so a model built on one tone alone acts flat. It therefore pays to brighten the upper surfaces and leave the lower parts darker, ideally with a dust deposit by the tire treads and in the wheel arch.
The material is thinned with water and once cured it is matte and flexible enough to stand up to handling the tracks and to gluing accessories on. The adhesion on plastic, resin and photo-etched metal is such that the assembly does not have to be sprayed material by material. Apply in thin passes and lead the second one from a greater distance.
A two-hundred-milliliter bottle is sized for columns of vehicles and for large scales. For a scene with several machines it is practically a necessity, because uniform coloring across the whole of it is otherwise hard to keep. The rest of the contents will serve besides on the base and on the stony terrain that belongs inseparably to vehicles from these battlefields.
