This is a weathering product, not a kit and not an opaque modeling paint. The set contains six shades of gouache intended for weathering a finished model, that is for suggesting dust, grime, dried mud and other traces of use. Gouache is applied to an already painted and dry surface, and its purpose is not to cover the area but to give it depth and unevenness.

Use

• Suggesting dust and settled grime on running gear, fenders and lower surfaces.
• Picking out and dirtying recesses, engraved lines and the areas around rivets and hatches.
• Creating uneven run marks on vertical surfaces.
• Pulling a finish that looks too clean together into a more believable whole.
• Once applied, the work can be reworked further and partly wiped back until the material dries.

How to work with the material

Always work on a fully dry finish and ideally over a protective clear coat, so that any excess can be removed without touching the paint underneath. Apply it in small amounts and blend it out; take away rather than add. The thinner intended by the manufacturer for this line, sold separately, is used for blending and for removing any excess. Do not mix the material with paints and thinners from other lines, as the chemistry may not agree. It is a good idea to seal the finished result with a matte varnish, otherwise the weathering can be wiped off during handling.

For modelers of military vehicles, aircraft and civilian subjects who want to take a model from the stage of a cleanly painted piece to the stage of a convincingly used machine. A set of six shades makes a good basis from which further tones can be mixed to suit the setting you place the model in.

Keep the product out of the reach of children. Ventilate the room while working and avoid unnecessary contact with the skin. Follow the manufacturer's instructions given on the packaging.
