Quick Marker from AK interactive is a coloring marker, not a kit. The filling is an acrylic contrast (speed paint) color of the same type that AK supplies in the bottles of the Quick Gen line, but in a marker with a flexible brush tip.
The name sounds like a contradiction, but it makes exact sense with a contrast color. White Shadow is a shade of very low intensity, light and delicate. When you apply it over a white primer, the color flows into the recesses, folds and engraved lines, where it gathers and creates a discreet, soft shadow, while the raised surfaces stay practically white. The result is a white surface complete with shading in a single pass, which is precisely the hardest thing to achieve with white.
There is a reason for that: white is never shaded with black, because a black shadow on white looks dirty and gray. It is shaded with a delicate light tone, and that is exactly the work this shade does for you. It therefore suits white fabrics, cloaks, cassocks, armor, snow and space schemes or white ceramics and marble.
For anyone who struggles with painting white: wargamers, figure collectors and modelers. The condition is a light base, because the color is semi-transparent and does not work over a dark or black primer. Shake the marker and write it in off the model. The acrylic color is water-thinnable, so clean the tip with water before it dries. The effect is delicate, and if you want stronger shading you apply it repeatedly or combine it with a darker shade.
