A caricature model of the British Churchill infantry tank from the World War Toons range. It is supplied unassembled, with no scale and with deliberately shortened proportions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Churchill was a British infantry tank of the Second World War, that is, a machine built to accompany infantry. It put its money on thick armor and the ability to cross broken ground, not on speed. Its recognition feature is the long hull with the tracks running the full height of the sides and the row of small road wheels, which give the tank its unmistakable silhouette.
World War Toons is a range of caricature models that have a deliberately shortened hull and an enlarged turret and barrel. It is not a reduction to an exact scale but an exaggeration that turns the tank into a toy while keeping the features by which you recognize the subject. On the Churchill it is exactly the track run and the low, wide box of the hull that stand out.
Even on a caricature it does not pay to skip cleaning the burrs off the parts, because every remnant shows on large smooth areas. A brush or an airbrush will both handle the painting. Bold edge highlighting in a lighter shade and dark accenting of the hatches and the gaps look effective, because an exaggerated shape carries contrasts like these better than an accurate model does.
The model will please collectors of caricature vehicles, modelers who want a relaxing build between two demanding projects, and children with an interest in tanks. It also works as a gift or as a decoration for a shelf. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
